Somali is spoken mainly by over ten million people especially in Somalia, but there are also has large numbers of Somali speakers in Ethiopia and Kenya. Somali is related to Afar and Oromo. The language has been officially written in Latin (Roman) letters since 1972. Most Somali speaking Christians are evangelical Protestants, with a Catholic minority. The full Somali Bible (Kitaabka Qoduuska Ah) was first published in 1979 by the Bible Society of Kenya.
