The NKJ translation fits well with The Van Dyck translation, which was produced in 1865 and is one of the oldest in use today. It is the most widely read and most trusted translation in Egypt and the Arab world, but the Arabic it uses is very different from that which is spoken today, making it hard for many people to understand fully. Being able to refer to the English text will help readers to overcome this problem.

"This Bible will be a useful resource for the Arabic-speaking world and a great help in making the Scriptures more understandable," says the Bible Society of Egypt. Potential secondary audiences including Egyptian minorities abroad, young people learning English and those for whom Arabic is a second language.
